Welcome Emily!

I know I promised a post after Emily was born but as you may have imagined, things have been a little busy in the Suh household. Also uploading pictures to blogger using Mac has been difficult as well. I don't know why the font and formatting gets all messed up. Anyways, here's a few pictures for Emily and the family. I'll post more later.

It Will All Change..

starting tomorrow. After 9 months of baking/cooking/kicking in Betty's belly, Emily Yae-Eun Suh will finally be out into this world. As much as we're looking forward to meeting Emily, we're sad that we'll spend a little less time with Andrew because of Emily. Does that sound bad? I'm sure you know what I mean. I've always wondered before marrying Betty how one person can love another person so much. Love Betty as much as I do, I know that it can be done. While Betty was pregnant with Andrew, I wondered how I can love 2 people as much as I should. Now I can't believe I can love Andrew as much as I do. Now I'm dealing with the same struggles as I'm waiting on Emily's arrival. But I know later tomorrow morning I'll be able to love Emily as I love Andrew now. I know this love only comes from God since it's impossible to generate any of this on my own. Thanks God for letting me see a glimpse of who you are through my wife and kids.

Hope this is making sense.. It's late and I should go to bed. I'm going to meet my daughter tomorrow morning. =)

Please Touch Museum

Andrew had a great time playing with all the cars, grocery items and other kids. We went on July 18th so it was before he started walking. I can't wait to go back again now that he's walking.

Update

Wow, it's been a month since the last update? I was hoping to update at least a couple times a month but life just got really busy.

Andrew is over 20 months old now and is running all over the place. He's become more independent and wanting to explore every inch of the house. Although it gets to be a bit tiresome with him getting into everything, we still enjoy this stage very much. It's funny how we're so eager for our kids to do something (i.e. crawling, walking, talking, etc) and after they do it, it's not that huge of a deal. What's walking/talking 1 month later/earlier when they're going to be doing that for the next 90+ years? Am I eager to hear Andrew talk? Yes but I can wait another month or two. I'm sure we'll be wishing he stop talking at some point. :)

Betty's actual due date is 10/1. She had her ob appointment last Tuesday and the doctor told her that she would deliver any day. Then she had another appointment this past Friday and a different doctor told her that she's surprised that she hasn't delivered yet. So what are we doing to get ready? Nothing. I mean what can we do? It's not like we can wait by the door with the suitcase ready for her to start her contractions. It's actually pretty....what's the word.. we're not annoyed that the baby hasn't come yet but just anxious. Yeah, we're just anxious. We kept saying last week that we wanted Emily (that's her name) to wait until this week to come out but now we're asking her to hurry it up. Ultimately we know it's all in God's hands. We're just praying that there's no traffic on 76 East.

I'll be posting some pictures of Andrew over the next several days. We wanted to take advantage of this time when it's just the three of us. I'm sure it'll be double the craziness when Emily comes.

Finally!

The quality of the video isn't that great since I took it on my phone but at least it's proof that he's finally walking!

Breaking News!!

The news is 1 day old but it's still a breakthrough. Yesterday Andrew took 4 steps all by himself!! Yes it's only 4 steps but it's still 4 steps! Good job buddy!! Unfortunately I was there to see it but hopefully he'll walk again soon..

Merry Go Round

Went to the PMM yesterday to play around the fountain and ride the Merry Go Round. He's getting more comfortable riding the horse now. Such a big boy!

18 Months!

Happy birthday Andrew! Today is your 18 month birthday! Mommy and daddy are so thankful that God gave us such a beautiful son. You are a constant reminder of God's faithfulness and goodness in our lives. Do you know all the things you put us through while you were in mommy's belly and also when you came out? But I'm sure you were scared too. But God was right there along side of you protecting you and making sure you're okay. Mommy and daddy are happy that you always smile (that's from daddy's side), sleep well, eat well and play well. May God continue to bless you and show how much He love you! Happy birthday Andrew! We love you!!

NYC

This past Friday Andrew, Betty, Betty's mom and I went up to NYC to visit Andrew's uncle. We decided to chance it and drove up there instead of taking the train. So glad we did! Only took us an hour and half door to door! We were afraid there was going to be tons of traffic with the July 4th holiday. Anyways, we had lunch with Uncle Gene, played at FAO Schwarz, hung out at Central Park and had dinner at a Japanese steak place. The steak place was really, really good. We don't have any pics of any food but here's a few from the park and FAO.

Update

We thought Andrew was going to be fine when he was afebrile yesterday. But he woke up crying/screaming at 6:30am (which he never ever does) with a temp of 103.8. We took him to the peds office and after culturing him, he has strep. We were kinda glad he had strep because if that came out negative, they were going to cath him so they can check for uti. He was given amoxil (which he loves the taste of) and hopefully he'll get better soon.

Thunder Thighs

Andrew got tired of us pushing him around so I sat on the bike to see how he would react. Little did we realize how strong he is! The driveway is flat and I had my feet above the ground.
The video quality isn't that great because it was taken using Betty's phone.

Disney World Day 1 & 2

**You can click on any of the pictures for a larger image.
Andrew was just chillin' and absorbing the new surrounding.

This is the home of Mickey and his friends.

Notice the sweat on them! It was hot!

We rode the train around the entire Magic Kingdom. The ride took about 20 minutes and wasn't that exciting.

One of the few rides we were able to go on multiple times. You'll notice that Andrew has his finger in his mouth in a lot of pictures because he's teething. Check out his huge belly!

People were lined up along the side waiting for the parade. This was around 9pm and yes, Andrew was still awake! We actually went home in the afternoon to nap him and came back. He was such a good boy! He didn't fuss all day even though he stayed up until 11pm! We finished off the night with fireworks! Andrew loved it!
Tuesday: We all slept in today. Don't remember what time we left the house but I do remember it being really hot outside when we stepped out of the hotel.

Another picture in front of the castle.

The following pictures are from the ride, "It's a Small World". As you can see, Andrew loved it! So much to look at!

We waited in line for about 45 minutes so that we can see this reaction from Andrew. Worth every minute of it!
We never thought that Andrew would love seeing Mickey and friends so much. While we were waiting in line, he would grunt and point towards Mickey because he wanted to meet him. After this reaction, we spent more time on day 3 & 4 waiting in line. I would totally do it again to see his face light up!

Andrew's Sick

My little buddy is sick. He's been sick since yesterday morning after he got up. Initially I thought he was a little warm because of the pajamas he was wearing. But after taking his temp, he definitely had a high fever. We thought the fever was from his teething but it's not usual to have temps of 102.5, 102.9, etc. We gave him acetaminophen and ibuprofen around the clock from yesterday afternoon till now but still hasn't gone down yet. We thankful that he doesn't fuss or cry when he's sick. Even last night, I woke him up at 2:30am to give him his meds and he didn't fuss at all. He took all of his med and went right back down.

On another note, I've been meaning to post our Disney pictures but just haven't had the chance to. I'll do that later today. For those 3 people that read this blog, stay tuned!

Colwell Park

After dinner the family went to Colwell Park by our house. Andrew is still getting used to the swing, slides and other rides but I'm sure he'll get used to it after a while. He's not walking yet but once he does, I'm sure he'll be running around all over the park.

Elmo's World!

Andrew LOVES Elmo. Whenever we say, "Andrew let's watch Elmo!" his face lights up. During dinner, he just had to read his Elmo book while eating dinner.

Today's Breakfast

Andrew woke up a little sick today. He was a little fussy and kept wanting to be held, which is very unusual. After watching a little Elmo and giving him some fruit jars to play with, he started eating breakfast. He's had bananas before but this may be the first time he was 'allowed' to actually touch the peel and hold the banana.

Oh, By the Way...

Yes we're expecting! We found on Monday that Andrew is going to have a sister. =)

Andrew's Rides

Over the past 16 months, Andrew has enjoyed riding his jumperoo, walkers and other push toys. Well he is getting older and is enjoying more 'big boy' rides. Here are just 2 of his favorites.

He's almost mastered this truck. He can go forward and back on this but just can't turn. Even if the steering wheel turned, I don't think he would know how to use it. He loves riding this.

Here he is on his truck trying to eat the little guys up front.

This is his very first tricycle. This is the Kettler Kettrike Limited Edition Navigator. This thing is awesome! Notice how the back wheels aren't straight? Well you can use the push bar to steer even if the front wheel is turned to one side. This thing is very sturdy using quality steel and plastic. It's also adjustable in length so he can use it as he grows older. I can go on and on but you can read more about it here. (I didn't pay that price for it. I almost never pay full price on anything I buy!)

Peek a boo!

Andrew and I have been playing this game since he was 1 week old and he still loves playing it with me! Since he can crawl really fast now, we play around the couch where I would hide behind it and he would either go around and find me or jump on the cushion and look over. This was taken 15 minutes after he woke up.

May 20, 2009 ~ Usually he's not this still after his bath but he's watching Sesame Street on TV. You can poke him, turn him, and even pick his nose and he won't move as long as Sesame Street is on.

May 10, 2009 ~ What a smile!
